His Bigger Story

“Sometimes God redeems your story by surrounding you with people who need to hear your past, so it doesn’t become their future” – John Acuff

4.5 years, it’s been that long since I sat down to write. To be honest I didn’t know if I would ever write again. While writing is my passion, my outlet and yes, my free therapy, until recently I didn’t know if I had the strength to write. If I’m being honest, I’m still not sure but I have felt in my spirit for some time the Lord telling me now was the time so here I am. I’m not sure what His purpose is for this but one thing I have learned these last 4.5 years, specifically the last 2 years is that my story does not stop with me. The Lord is continuing to show me how my life, my story is a part of the bigger story He is writing, His bigger story.

John Piper says it best, “Occasionally weep deeply over the life that you hoped would be. Grieve the losses, feel the pain, then wash your face, trust God and embrace the life that He’s given you.” It’s my prayer that all that is shared on this little corner of space encourages you, points you to Jesus and brings glory to the Lord and all He has and is continuing to do in my life as I continue to find myself after losing myself to trauma and an abusive marriage. Life isn’t always good, but God……friends, He is always good.
